Round 6 of the All Japan Road Race Championships at Sugo yesterday, former Petronas Asia Road Racing Championship SuperSports 600cc champion Decha Kraisart of Thailand won the race in 31:07.744. Japanese riders Shinichi Nakatomi and Hitoyasu Izutsu finished second and third respectively in 31:07.846 and 31:10.073.

Brake failure thwarted Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman (Boon Siew Honda Racing Malaysia) and Muhd Zamri Baba (Petronas Hong Leong Yamaha Malaysia) yesterday.

The brake problems resulted in a sixth place finish for Azlan while Zamri failed to finish although both got off to a good start in the 20-lap race.

Azlan made it to the top 10 after starting from 12th position on the grid but his front brakes malfunctioned midway through the race and he ended up sixth in 31:23.240.

Zamri, who started in 13th position, encountered brake failure on Lap 9 and was involved in a minor crash. He continued until Lap 15 when his rear brake hose came loose, forcing him to quit the race.
