The engine is a 248cc parallel twin with a 53.5mm bore and 55.2mm stroke, which produces a compression ratio of 11.5:1. The performance figures seem very comparable with the Kawasaki Ninja 250R.

According to Paul de Lusignan, spokes person Suzuki UK, the 2012 Suzuki Inazuma boasts of a 4-stroke 248cc engine which will deliver a best in class fuel efficiency of 30.48kmpl, which according to Suzuki is 14.4kmpl more than the current 250cc leader.

Without a doubt with current 250cc market leader, Suzuki means the Kawasaki Ninja 250R
