Rumors are that Yamaha Thailand will within a few months introduce a 250cc V-twin Cruiser motorcycle the Yamaha Dragstar DS250

Rumors about a Yamaha 250cc are nothing new, last year the rumor was that Yamaha would introduce the Yamaha V-Star 250 on the Thai market, what would be relative easy as they are being produced in Malaysia.

The Yamaha Dragstar DS250 is being produced in Japan, so should be more costly to import into Thailand.

In the Indian market, a market very related to the one in Thailand, the rumor is that Yamaha comes with a single-cylinder FZ250 or Fazer250 model...

Maybe this is the new 250cc V-twin which is said to come to Thailand

The new Yamaha 250 cc is not a V-twin engine setup. The new Yamaha 250 cc comes with a single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine in the Yamaha Fazer series.

Anyone know the status of the v-star 250 or 250 Dragster availability in Thailand? Can you get these bikes? What the cost and where?

250 dragster looks very nice upset they will be over inflated price for the Thai market,

While for most people Yamaha motorcycles are motorcycles made by Yamaha Motor, the truth is a bit different. Yamaha motor in Malaysia who is involved in making the Yamaha V-star 250 is another company then we have in Thailand.

In Thailand Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd is basically (Yamaha Japan with Mitsui & Co. and a few Thai partners). The Yamaha/Mitsui joint venture does business in countries like Indonesia, Thailand and India (with India the major manufacturing source).

The Malaysian Yamaha is a join venture between Yamaha (Japan) and Hong Leong Motor Sdn Bhd, and while they buy and sell products from another they prefer to keep business to themselves...

With that in mind, we can expect that on the Thai market we get the 250cc motorcycle which will be produced in India. Rumors are that a FZ25, Fazer 250 or YBR250 will soon be introduced in India... All this models are based on a single cylinder 250cc engine...

The company in Malaysia who has the contract with Yamaha is also active in Singapore for as long as I can remember. So I guess that the 180cc V-twin you saw in Singapore also comes from Malaysia. But without more details as model name I cannot say it's really so.
