Triumph Motorcycles has issued a worldwide recall on a small quantity of its recently launched Street Twin and T120 Bonneville retro models over a fuel leak and fire risk. There have been no reports of any incidents resulting from the fault.
The wiring in the fuel tank that powers the fuel pump may have damaged insulation due to a problem with the molding tools used to manufacture the sub-harness. As a result, fuel may enter the wiring and travel down the harness outside of the fuel tank and drip from the connector at the main harness.
Triumph's internal investigations have identified the need to replace a sub-harness in the fuel tank to prevent a potential fuel leak. This only affects sub-harnesses with batch codes: X11154044 or X111550060.
Recall affects a small percentage of the total produced models and Triumph will contact the owners.
