Yamaha Asia has issued a recall for some of the flagship superbike, the Yamaha YZF-R1. The recall is due to a fault in the lead coupler in the headlight that causes overheating and melts the assembly, which could lead to a possible short-circuit.
Affected motorcycles are manufactured between October 2008 and August 2013. If you're not contacted by your Yamaha dealer your motorcycle is probably not affected by this recall, if you want to make sure you can always contact your Yamaha dealer about this recall. Yamaha will replace faulty parts free of cost on concerned motorcycles.
