Somebody else compared the Yamaha Tenere with the Kawasaki Versys 1000, is that a fair comparison?

Hmm we not sure if it's correct to compare the Yamaha Tenere to the Kawasaki Versys 1000. For instance the Kawasaki Versys 1000 is a much more road orientated bike, while the Yamaha Tenere has much more off-road capability.

The Kawasaki is powered by an inline-four 1043cc engine, which is also used in the Kawasaki Z1000, this engine delivers about 118 horsepower, while the Yamaha XT1200Z Tenere is equipped with a parallel twin engine which delivers about 109 horsepower.

The Yamaha XT1200 Tenere delivers more torque (114Nm) that the Kawasaki Versys 1000 (102Nm) which is very useful in an Adventure bike.

Both are of course excellent machines, but only the Yamaha XT1200Z Tenere is currently available in Thailand.
