Is your Kawasaki ZZR600 an E6 model? Most E6s were sold in 1998 but a few may have jumped into 1999. If so, there are a few which had a fault that causes the exact problem you describe. On some you can just get the camshaft cover out but on a handful of ZZR600 E6s we've heard the only thing to do is take out the engine mounting bolts and drop the engine slightly. It's pain but it's that or try and check the valves with the camshaft cover stuck in there. If your motorcycle's not an E6 then yes, there's probably something wrong with you...
Am I stupid or is there something wrong with my motorcycle? I've tried to take the camshaft cover off to check the valve clearances but I can't get it out.
I've spoken to people on several other forums with the same motorcycle model as me and they've done the job with no problems. So why can't I?
My motorcycle is a Kawasaki ZZR600.
