Why don't we see more manufacturers produce carbon fiber brake rotors like we can see in the MotoGP and Formula One?

There are two good reasons for carbon fiber brake rotors not being available to the general public:

First, Carbon Fiber rotors only work if they are hot, very hot. In daily road riding with rain water and slow speeds, it is almost impossible to keep the pads and rotors up to their operating temperature. As a result, the cold pads and rotor do not offer immediate stopping power required. In MotoGP racing, with their higher speeds and longer braking zones, it is not problem to get the brakes hot.

Second, The international Standard document number 122 specifies that brakes shall be capable of stopping the vehicle from the multiple of 8km/h that is 6.5km/h to 13km/h less than the speed attainable in 1.6km, within stopping distances that do not exceed the stopping distances specified in table 1.
