The BMW Path 22 Concept - BMW Scrambler

The success of Ducati's new Scrambler has caught the attention of many manufacturers, including BMW. Unveiling the BMW Path 22 Concept at the recent Waves and Wheels custom bike festival in France was an opportunity to gauge public reaction ahead of a full production release. Roland Sands has been working with BMW on a Scrambler project and the RSD engine covers on the concept hint the motorcycle is production-ready.

While the Ducati Scrambler is for Thailand the cheapest Ducati model, we can expect the BMW Path 22, which design is based on the BMW R nineT, to be priced at a higher level. Most of the time when motorcycle manufacturers face off in a market segment, prices need to be comparable...
A close inspection of the BMW Path 22 Concept reveals key cost-saving changes in the suspension, brakes and equipment. The upside down Ohlins fork on the production R nineT has been replaced with a standard unit, the rear shock is different and the radial Brembo callipers have been replaced with lower spec items.

Also a steel fuel tank has been fitted on the BMW Path 22 to replace the aluminum unit on the BMW R nineT and there appear to be changes to the dash.Tag: BMW Scrambler Path-22 Boxer-Twin 1170cc Concept Roland Sands Classic Retro
