Supermoto World Championship is Ready to Start


Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th at Oval Lingotto in Turin will be held the first Supermoto World Championship GP. World Champions Gerald Delepine and Adrien Chareyre will fight eachother for the first time as the two teammates will be racing in S2 class. Young rider Thomas Chareyre, 2007 French Champion, will be riding on SM 450R in the S1 class in the chase for his first World Title.

To make sure he's 100% ready for the first GP, Belgian rider Gerald Delepine raced last week end in occation of the first race in the national championship. Gerald was in great shape and got the first position. "I'm happy of my physical conditions and can't wait for the first GP to start. Of course I'm racing for the Title and I'm thrilled to meet my rivals on Turin track" declared Gerald before leaving for Italy.
Apart from the factory riders, there will be more Huskys in the race. Cross 2R team will be taking part to the World Championship with Kevin Berthome and Sylvain Bidart, 5th and 6th placed in 2007.

Both riders will be riding in the S1 class and will be supported by a special sponsor: Sportitalia. The Italian satellite network, broadcasted on Sky, will follow the 2008 World Championship.

In the week end, Husqvarna will also take part to the Motorfest organized at Oval Lingotto in occasion of the GP with a resplay of 2008 models and a free test ride week end of the 2008 supermotard models
