American Polaris Tie-Up with Indian Manufacturer

There was a time that foreign motorcycle manufacturers looked at Thailand to jump into an Asian adventure, it seems now-a-day that foreign motorcycle manufacturers are currently tying up with Indian companies to benefit from their infrastructure set-up, know-how and cost-effective manufacturing.

There have been a few such arrangements recently and we hear that a new one might soon enter the final stage of negotiations, American Polaris Industries are considering a tie-up with India's Eicher Motor, which involves motorcycles.
The two companies have been partners since a year ago when they entered into a joint venture for making an undisclosed category of personal vehicles. Their association may increase to include motorcycles as Polaris want to expend the Victory Motorcycle market in Asia and is keen to introduce its latest brand, Indian Motorcycle on the Asian market.

IF this deal is sealed, Polaris may get their motorcycles for the Asian market assembled in India. In return, Eicher may get their hands on Polaris' multi-cylinder V-twin motorcycles engine technology. It also possible that at some stage Royal Enfield may use these engines to power their future motorcycles.
