The 2014 Hero HX250R - 250cc by Eric Buell Racing

The long awaited 250cc sportsbike from Eric Buell Racing and HeroMoto Corp., was introduced at the Indian 2014 Auto Expo. The Hero/EBR HX250R is a sporty, modern looking motorcycle; there's plenty of Eric Buell Racing DNA in the Hero HX250R.

The Hero/EBR HX250R is basically the first product of the EBR collaboration, EBR Vice President of Global Sales Gary Pietruszewski has told reporters. Both EBR and HeroMotor Corp., have confirmed that the Hero/EBR HX250R would be sold worldwide. While Thailand is by the words of the HeroMotor Corp. spokes person an interesting market for the Hero/EBR HX250R he could not say when it would be available.

The 250/300cc segment is really gaining in popularity in the world, and if the HX250R can be sold at an extremely attractive price we have the idea that they will be successful in Thailand.
The Hero/EBR HX250R is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine, this engine produce around 31 horsepower and 26Nm torque. With a ultra-modern electronic fuel-injection system from Keihin. The engine is teamed up with a 6-speed gearbox with the classic 1-down, 5-up configuration. The overall weight of the Hero/EBR HX250R is just 139 kilogram, 28 kilograms lighter than the Honda CBR250R.

Some neat design features include a under-seat exhaust system, fully digital instrument panel, including speedometer, tachometer, engine temperature and fuel gauge and a few more options. The Hero/EBR HX250R is standard equipped with LED tail lights. The front suspension is by conventional telescopic forks, the rear suspension is a monoshock 5-step adjustable configuration with a trellis swingarm. The brakes use the combi-brake-systems which we can also find on modern Honda sportsbikes (can be turned off). The front brake is by a 300mm disc and the rear is a 220mm disc.
